Lumbini
Lumbini tour one of the most important place of Buddhist pilgrimage is Lumbini, located near the Nepal-India border. This is where Gautam Buddha was born. Although largely destroyed now, this is the sacred site of the birth of Shakyamuni Buddha. There are foundations of temples dating from the 2nd century BC to the 9th century AD and two modern temples: One is Tibetan style, the Dharma Swami Maharaja Buddha Temple. This was built by the king of Mustang and one Nepalese Style Building, the Lumbini Buddha Vihar build by Nepali government but contains Tibetan-style frescoes and Newari-Style Buddhist images.
Pokhara
Pokhara (820m) is a beautiful valley with a panoramic view of Annapurna and Machhapuchare (Fish tail) in the north and Dhaulagiri in the wast and, Lamjung Himal and Manasalu in the east. The beauties of Pokhara are many amongst Lake Phewa are the major attraction and the most spectacular view of Annapurna range reflection early in the morning in Phewa Lake. The other attraction is a beautiful sunrise seen from a top place called Sarankot, and most adventurous fly paragliding starting point. Most of the lodges are located in the eastern edge of the lake. Pokhara is one of the favorite tourist destination next to Kathmandu. Pokhara is linked by 200km road with Kathmandu through the bank of Trisuli River which is also one of the attractions in context of river rafting adventure. This is also a gateway to the mountain for trekkers. Beside this there are several places of tourist interest in and around the Pokhara including short hike in Annapurna foothill.
Chitwan
Chitwan also carry its own history as there is saying that in ancient time it was the royal hunting grounds for the kings and dignitaries of Nepal and therefore was not hunted by the general public. So it is however became a favorite spot for big game safari and other adventurous activities. It was also declared as a park in a world heritage site in 1984 for its unique ecosystem. Chitwan is one of the most important sub-tropical parks on the Indian subcontinent with populations of the endangered Royal Bengal tiger, Greater One-Horned rhinoceros, Gangetic Dolphin, Wild Asian elephant, Gaur, Golden monitor lizard, Gharial crocodile and many more.
